- grief and loss

- stress

- adjustment to life transitions including pregnancy, motherhood and mid-life

- weight management concerns

- stress reactions; and

- major mood challenges including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I provide a warm, caring non-judgemental space for you to move towards sustainable change in line with what matters most to you.

The first session is about getting to know where you are feeling stuck and understanding your unique goals amidst a holistic framework.

Typically, in follow-up sessions, I will help you to understand and apply a range of tools from approaches such as Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion to learn ways to manage difficult beliefs/thinking patterns, uncomfortable body sensations/emotions, and behaviours that keep you from living your best life.

Frequency/Number of Sessions Required:

The number of sessions required will vary depending on your needs and preferences about attendance.  Some people may just wish to spend a session or two sharing some concerns and obtaining some helpful strategies, others may benefit from several to numerous sessions spaced weekly, fortnightly or monthly over months or even years.  The therapy relationship is a collaborative one - your needs and preferences will be the priority when organising session frequency and number of sessions that are most beneficial.

Session Fee/Length
The current session fee, as of 1 July 2024, is $250 per session.  An initial consultation is 60 minutes with follow-up sessions of 50 minutes.

Medicare Rebates
With a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), a rebate of $141.85 is available for 10 sessions per calendar year.  This means the out of pocket cost per session under a MHCP is $108.15.

Private Health Cover
If you do not have a Mental Health Care Plan  but can claim under a Private Health Fund, you will be issued with a receipt following payment of the session.

Department Veteran Affairs (DVA)/WorkCover Queensland
With the required referral via DVA or WorkCover Queensland you will not be required to pay any fee.

Cancellation Fees

Cancellation fees apply as it is difficult to fill a cancelled or missed appointment with short or no notice.  A cancellation fee may be charged for non-attendance or cancellations within less than 2 business days (48 hours) with the fee being: $125 for 24 - 48 business hours notice; 100% of the session fee for less than 24 hours business notice or non-attendance.

Please note I do not provide medico-legal reports.
